In 1984, Suhail Tufail, building on Liberal's growing portfolio, worked closely with local authorities to manage and maintain vast public parks. One of the biggest challenges at the time was the maintenance of large green fields, which led to the development of an innovative solution. For the first time, Suhail introduced the tractor-trail mower, combining cylinder lawn mower blades up to 60 inches with a ride-on option for easy operation while being towed by a tractor. This breakthrough resulted in the launch of two models: the HDLM 48 and HDLM 60, both of which became game-changers in the lawn care industry across Pakistan. These models set a new benchmark for heavy-duty lawn mowers, and proudly, they are still in working condition today, standing as a testament to their durability and innovation.v

In 1988, Suhail Tufail introduced the ALM series of petrol lawn mowers in Pakistan for the first time. In 1990, in collaboration with Lahore Gymkhana and driven by the increasing demand for efficient watering systems, Suhail Iqbal introduced the pop-up sprinkler system to Pakistan. This innovative system quickly gained popularity for its efficiency and ease of use. Liberal went on to complete numerous major projects nationwide, including installations at FFC, ENGRO, Royal Palm Golf Club, Pakistan Air Force, and National Bank Complex, among others. The success of this system cemented Liberal’s position as a leader in irrigation solutions across various industries and facilities.

In the 1990s, the game of cricket in Pakistan saw a major shift with the introduction of the Auto-Roller. Before its arrival, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) relied on a single imported roller to maintain pitches across the country, which created logistical challenges in moving the roller between cities. To address this, Suhail Iqbal, in collaboration with PCB’s curator Haji Bashir and Chairman General Tauqir Zia, was tasked with locally manufacturing the Auto-Roller, which would cater to the specific needs of cricket grounds across the nation. The roller was replicated with precision, ensuring it matched the original model without dismantling any parts.

To address the growing demand for clearing heavy vegetation and unmanaged grass, Liberal introduced the Rotary Slasher Series. Developed in collaboration with Taxila Ordinance Factory, these rugged machines provided powerful performance for agricultural land, public parks, and large commercial landscapes.

Liberal expanded its machinery portfolio by introducing locally manufactured rough-cut lawn mowers inspired by internationally recognized designs. Built for challenging terrain and dense vegetation, these machines provided dependable performance for municipalities, farms, and large commercial landscapes.

During this decade, Liberal diversified into sports field construction, delivering cricket grounds, polo fields, golf courses, tennis courts, and other professional sports facilities throughout Pakistan. The company combined engineering expertise with turnkey project execution to provide complete sports infrastructure solutions.
